It is with great joy and hearts full of expectation for all God will do in the years ahead that the Chapter of Holy Cross Cathedral announces the selection of the new Dean of the Cathedral.
The Reverend Michael T. Guernsey was chosen from a field of nearly 20 exceptionally qualified candidates who applied from literally all around the globe.
Michael+ received his education at Eastern University (BA) and Reformed Episcopal Seminary (M.Div.). He is also currently working on his Doctor of Ministry degree from one of our leading Anglican seminaries, Trinity School for Ministry (Pittsburgh).
His extensive experience includes serving as Associate Rector at Church of the Epiphany in Herndon, Virginia, Youth Minister at Church of the Good Samaritan, Paoli, Pennsylvania, and over eight years in paid and volunteer youth and worship ministries.
He joins us from a highly successful tenure as Rector of Christ Church, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, an ACNA church in the Diocese of the Carolinas. Under his leadership that church experienced a tremendous period of growth and building.
Michael+ is married to Tracy, a singer, voice and piano teacher, and a stay-at-home mom.
He is warmly and enthusiastically welcomed to this new role by our bishop, the Most Reverend Dr. Foley Beach and by the retiring Dean, Dr. Henry Baldwin.
